PART-TIME EVENT STAFF
DESCRIPTION
As a member of the Guest Services Team, you will be an essential part of the Guest experience and help build memories that last a lifetime. In this role, you will wear many different hats and have the potential to work in several different areas of the arena. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to ushering, ticket scanning, concourse customer service, greeter and event day security. You will have the opportunity to assist our guests by offering directions and sharing information while creating a World Class experience. Your job will be to keep our fans safe and informed while still maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare your assigned section for guests; this could include wiping down seats, looking for potential hazards, reporting any issues to a supervisor
- When gates open, welcome our fans with a great smile and helpful attitude
- Scan event tickets ensuring that the proper ticket is being used to gain entry
- Assist fans in locating their ticketed seats
- Being alert and proactive to potential hazards and reporting incidents when they occur
- Monitor your assigned area for issues and opportunities to make lasting memories for our fans
- Respond to all guest concerns/complaints promptly and in a professional manner
- Assist guests in ADA accessible seating sections
- Enforce all building policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all guests
- Manage the foot traffic flow of large crowds
- Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
- Be knowledgeable about the venue emergency evacuation plan in order to safely assist guests during the unlikely event of an emergency.
- Operate magnetometers (walkthrough metal detectors/hand operated scanners)
- Prevent or diffuse situations
- Maintain order and report suspicious activity
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
PART-TIME EVENTS INTERNSHIP
DESCRIPTION
The Event Management Intern will assist the Events Department in coordination, execution and completion of various events held at the Tyson Events Center / Fleet Farm Arena. The candidate will also assist with part time staff hiring, scheduling, deployment and supervising during events. The internship will consist of approximately 24+ hours a week with days and times varying depending on the event schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Event Managers in coordinating various types of events, including but not limited to, meetings, banquets, concerts, NAIA National Tournaments, Hockey, indoor football and graduations.
- Assist Events Department in management of event and parking staff including scheduling, deployment for events and supervising
- Complete special projects as assigned by management
- Maintain Inventory of all department Supplies: Staff Shirts, Radios, wristbands, etc.
- Attend departmental and building meetings as needed
- Other duties as assigned
PART-TIME BOX OFFICE ATTENDANT
DESCRIPTION
Under supervision of Box Office Manager, responsible for ticketsales and customer service for all ticketed events at Tyson Events Center / Orpheum Theatre.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Know and understand the operations of the ticketing system
- Familiarize yourself with each event (ticket prices, discounts, restrictions, reserved or general admission seating,etc.)
- Know and understand seating charts and configurations of the different events
- Perform transactionsfor all events on the ticketing system with efficiency and accuracy
- Collect proper currency or credit card amount for purchase of ticket(s) as well as give back proper number of tickets and correct change
- Communicate and satisfy patrons with world class customer service
- Operate phone and address call in patrons’ requests for information
- Reconcile all monies received from ticketsales
- Maintain confidentiality
- Additional duties may be assigned by Box Office Director or Box Office Supervisor
PART-TIME HOSPITALITY OPPORTUNITIES
PART-TIME CONCESSION COOK
DESCRIPTION
The Concession Cook is responsible for setting up and maintaining their cook station. The cook will ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and food storage procedures. Prepares food in an event based setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
- Receives verbal orders from the front counter staff for food product requirements for guest orders.
- Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests.
- Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand.
- Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations and displays.
- Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens.
- Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away and floor is swept and mopped at end of shift. The Cook must be checked out before ending the shift by the Floor Supervisor to ensure the concession stand meets cleanliness standards.
- Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
- Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
PART-TIME CONCESSION CASHIER
DESCRIPTION
The Cashier utilizes a cash register and accepts payment. Prepares and serves concession items to guests. Prepares and pours beverages and serves them to guests. Ensures quality of food presentation. Must be able to maintain excellent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct the cash register sales by entering the orders and completing the transaction.
- Responsible for maintaining stock and supply levels, and communicating to the Concessions Stand Manger of low stock items.
- Listening and responding to customer requests or concerns
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work space including but not limited to disposal of garbage & cleaning dishes.
- Serve beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages responsibly. Must check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
Sioux City Non-Profits can join the OVG Hospitality Concession Team!
Your organization will run a Food & Beverage Concession Stand at a Musketeer & Bandit's Home game at the Tyson Events Center.
Represent your organization, make $75 per volunteer/per 5 - 6 hour shift, and raise money for you organization. *Minimum of 4 volunteers per game.
36+ Musketeer Hockey games & 6+ Bandit Football games.
