Accessible Information

Tyson Events Center provides a full range of accommodations for guests with disabilities to ensure their safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our events. When ordering accessible/disability seating is it important you indicate that so that we can properly assist you. Accessible seating is available on the concourse level of the Tyson Event Center and may be purchased through ETIX, or by visiting the Tyson Events Center box office. Adjacent companion seating may be purchased based on availability. To purchase accessible seating through ETIX:

 

Accessible Parking

A limited number of accessible parking is located in the box office parking lot, located between Pierce and Pearl Streets. The designated handicapped spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and cannot be reserved in advance. A current state-issued hangtag or license plate must be displayed to park in this area.

Advertising

Children’s Admissions

The age required to enter the arena varies by event, however, even if a ticket is not required, in order for the child to have his/her own seat, a ticket is required. If you are uncertain about the policy, feel free to contact us at 712.279.4850.

Aisles

For safety, and as a courtesy to other guests, aisles must be clear at all times. Please refrain from standing in the aisles during events and follow the directions of staff in your area.

ATM Locations

There are two automated teller machines (ATMs) for your convenience, located throughout Tyson Events Center.

There is one ATM located in the box office lobby and the other is located on the south concourse behind section 105.

For your convenience, most Tyson Events Center concession and merchandise kiosks accept Visa and MasterCard.

Alcoholic Beverage Policy

No alcohol may be brought into The Tyson Events Center. Per Iowa law, all persons must be age 21 or older and provide legal identification to purchase alcoholic beverages. Alcohol purchases are limited to two (2) beverages per guest. Management has the right to refuse service at any time. Alcohol sales can be terminated at any time at the discretion of Tyson Events Center / Centerplate management.

Animals

Animals are not permitted inside of the Tyson Events Center, with the exception of trained service animals.

Announcements

For most events, PA announcements/pages are not available. Please designate a meeting place should your party become separated.

Backstage Passes

Backstage Passes are supplied by touring personnel only.  Backstage passes are very limited and usually only provided by radio stations, fan clubs, or artist management. Many radio stations hold contests to win the backstage passes. Also, several artists take time before or after each show they perform to meet the members of their fan clubs. Tyson Events Center personnel cannot give or sell backstage passes to patrons or give out tour personnel information.

Banners and Signs

Hand-held, poster board/paper signs are allowed provided they are not wider than shoulder width, due to sightline restrictions of other guests. Banners and signs may not be hung, or placed on railings or sticks. Banners and signs must not be commercial in nature or obscene or cause any disturbance with other fans. Some events prohibit banners and signs, please consult the Tyson Events Center if you have any questions regarding banners or signs. Tyson Events Center reserves the right to remove any banner or sign without exception.

Binoculars

Guests are welcome to bring their personal binoculars to events.

The box office is located inside the south lobby of the Tyson Events Center.  You may enter the south lobby using the main south doors.

The Tyson Events Center Box Office, located at 401 Gordon Drive, will be open Monday through Friday from 10am to 5:30pm, Saturdays 10am to 1pm**, and closed on Sundays.

**PLEASE NOTE SPECIAL SUMMER WEEKEND HOURS: In the summer months, between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, the Box Office will be closed on Saturdays, unless it is an event day. In that case, the Box Office will open at 10am, and remain open through the event.

All hours are subject to change, please call ahead. Exact closing times after the start of the show may very per event. The Box Office opens at least two hours prior to a ticketed event in the arena.

Credit Card Verification Policy:

For safety and security reasons, tickets purchased by credit card may only be purchased by the actual credit card holder – you must show a valid photo ID to complete the ticket transaction. There are no refunds or exchanges.

Events are generally posted as soon as they are announced to the public.  Please check the event on www.tysoncenter.com or sign up for email alerts.

Accessible Seating:

Accessible seating is available for all events at the Tyson Events Center. For additional information regarding the availability of accessible seating please call the box office at 71.279.4850 ext. 2. To purchase accessible tickets please go to www.etix.com

Purchasing Tickets:

 

Cameras, Video Cameras, Audio Recorders

Restriction on the use of still cameras varies by event. Professional cameras and/or cameras with exchangeable lenses are prohibited unless accompanied by appropriate event credentials. Cameras without a flash may be allowed for some events. Video cameras and audio recorders or digital cameras in video mode are prohibited in The Tyson Events Center. Please check the event details page for specific policies for what is allowed for each event, or check in advance by calling the Tyson Events Center Box Office at 712.279.4850.

Be aware that if you bring a camera to a show that does not permit cameras, you will be asked to return the camera to your vehicle before you enter the facility. The use of these items will result in confiscation and possible ejection from the Tyson Events Center. These are general guidelines set forth by the Tyson Events Center and can be changed based on the specific request of the artist or promoter.

The ticket holder grants permission to the facility and its agents to use the image and/or likeness in connection with any still photograph, live or recorded video display, or other transmission or reproduction, in whole or in part of any event.

Cancelled or Rescheduled Events:

In the rare occasion that an event is cancelled or rescheduled, information is immediately placed on www.tysoncenter.com and information may be sent via phone and/or e-mail if contact information was provided at time of purchase. However, please be aware that there is no way to ensure that every ticket holder will be contacted.  Local media may provide cancelled or rescheduled information as well.

If an event is cancelled or postponed please call the box office at 712.279.4850 or visit www.tysoncenter.com for information updates. In most cases, original tickets will be honored for the rescheduled date or refunds will be issued through the original point of purchase. Please be aware that special or third party rental events may not be included.

Charity Requests

To be considered for ticket donations, please send an e-mail with your charity information and contact information to [email protected].  Requests must be received in writing and will be considered on a first come first serve basis. Ticket requests for the Sioux City Musketeers and Sioux City Bandits must be submitted directly to the teams.

Check-in Services

Check-in services for prohibited items, such as bags, cameras, outside food and beverages are not available. Such prohibited items must be returned to the guest’s vehicle, disposed of or left at an off-site location.

Concessions

Centerplate offers a wide variety of food and beverage items for guests to enjoy. There are 8 permanent concession stands located on the concourse level of the Tyson Events Center, along with several satellite concession stands that vary by event. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Designated Driver Program

The Designated Driver program is designed to ensure guests a safe trip home from Tyson Events Center events. Guests, age 21 and older, who pledge not to drink alcoholic beverages during the event may sign up at the Guest Information booth located at the top of the staircase on the south concourse, and are eligible to receive free fountain drinks throughout the event. Designated Drivers are not eligible to purchase alcohol at any time during the event. For more information on the designated driver program, please visit the Guest Information booth.

  • Disabled and Accessible Seating is available in all ticket prices, based on availability. Companion seats are available for purchase with each disabled seat. Doors Opening

The time the doors to the Tyson Events Center open will vary by event. The event producer determines the time the doors open. Typically, doors open 1 hour prior to the published start time of the event.

Dress Code

All guests are required to wear a shirt and shoes at all times for their own safety. Tyson Events Center staff reserves the right to deny entry to guests wearing clothing items displaying offensive language or graphics.

Elevators

There are two public elevators located inside of the Tyson Events Center. One is located on the south side of the arena behind section 105, the other is located on the north side of the arena behind section 111.

Emergency Evacuations

The Tyson Events Center is committed to providing the highest standard of safety for our guests. In the case of an emergency, please proceed to the nearest exit.   During certain weather emergencies, you will be moved to emergency shelter locations inside the Tyson Events Center. Tyson Center staff has been trained in how to handle emergency procedures. Guests are advised to record their seat location at home for babysitters and family members to access in the event of an emergency.

 

Family Restrooms

Tyson Events Center has two family restrooms available in the arena.  Please see an usher for the family restroom nearest to you.

Fan Conduct

Tyson Events Center strives to provide all guests with a safe and enjoyable experience. All guests must maintain reasonable and appropriate behavior at all times. Guests using offensive language or engaging in disorderly conduct may be ejected from the facility and may be subject to arrest. Ejected guests will not receive a refund for their tickets or be compensated in any way for their loss.

Rules and Regulations
The following are in place to make sure guest have an enjoyable and safe experience:

  1. All persons are subject to search before entry into the Tyson Events Center.
  2. The resale of tickets is not permitted on the property (inside or out) of the Tyson Events Center.
  3. Weapons of any kind are not permitted into the Tyson Events Center, including lawfully concealed firearms.
  4. You must be 21 years of age to purchase and to consume alcohol at the Tyson Events Center. ID required.
  5. No outside food, beverages are allowed into the Tyson Events Center.
  6. No illegal drugs, laser pointers, selfie sticks, bicycles, rollerblades or skate boards are allowed into the Tyson Events Center.
  7. Shirts and shoes are required at all times.
  8. No loitering, trespassing, soliciting or peddling on Tyson Events Center property, inside or out.
  9. Cameras and audio equipment may not be permitted during certain events.
  10. The Tyson Events Center is completely smoke free inside the building and arena, including the use of electronic cigarettes. Outside areas are designated as smoking areas.
  11. No pets are allowed into the Tyson Events Center, except service animals.
  12. Video recording or picture taking may be in progress during any event inside the Gateway Arena. Your presence acknowledges your permission to use your photo on television, online, on social media or elsewhere. You hereby waive all residual rights or claims, monetary or otherwise that might arise because of any additional use of the above – described material at any future date.
  13. There is no standing on chairs inside the Tyson Events Center.
  14. Children and adults are not permitted on the shoulders of another person during an event.
  15. Anyone displaying intoxication and disorderly conduct will be removed from the Tyson Events Center without a refund.
  16. There is no fighting or challenging others to fight.
  17. Patrons are not to interfere with a game or event.
  18. Igniting and display of flames, i.e. lighters/matches, inside of the facility is not permitted.
  19. No throwing, discharging or launching any liquid substance or objects.
  20. Patrons should not willfully and maliciously disturb another guest/employee with loud and unreasonable noise.
  21. Patrons should refrain from using profanity and/or offensive words, which are likely to provoke a violent reaction from other fans, players, referees or performers.

Violators of the above rules or any local, state or federal laws and statues will be refused admission, ejected and possibly subject to arrest.

To enforce these policies, Tyson Events Center staff is located throughout the arena. Guests who interfere with others right to enjoy the event are subject to ejection from the facility.

First Aid

If urgent medical assistance is needed during an event, please notify the nearest arena staff or event personnel. Event medical professionals are available at First Aid stations during public events to assist guests with medical needs. First Aid station is located on the north concourse, behind section 111. The Tyson Events Center is equipped with an AED, which is a device used to administer an electric shock through the chest wall of the heart. A built in computer assesses the patient’s heart rhythm, judges whether defibrillation is needed and then administers the shock. Audible and/or visual prompts guide the user through the process.

An AED machine is located on the concourse level behind section 105. These portable models allow non-medical people to respond to a medical emergency where defibrillation is required.

Food and Beverage

Tyson Events Center / Centerplate offer a full range of menu choices from the traditional hot dogs and nachos, to pizza, philly steak sandwiches, pulled pork and ice cream.  Many other items are available.  Alcohol is served at most events, but not all events.  Please contact Centerplate directly at 712.279.4909 for a question regarding food available at the concession stand.  Food or beverages may not be brought into The Tyson Events Center and alcoholic beverages may not be taken out of The Tyson Events Center. Water fountains are located throughout the facility.

 

Guest Courtesy

The Tyson Events Center is committed to providing an enjoyable experience for our guests. In order to maintain an enjoyable and safe environment, we request that all guests be courteous to those around them and abide by all building policies and regulations. Guests using foul language or appearing intoxicated may be ejected from the building. Guests wearing obscene or indecent clothing may be denied entry. Shirts must be worn at all times. Guests who engage in inappropriate behavior will be removed from the building.

Guest Information Booth

Our Guest Services Representatives are trained to provide assistance and have an understanding of how to accommodate guest’s needs.

The Guest Information Booth is located on the south concourse behind section 105.

Inclement Weather

Generally, all shows at the Tyson Events Center go on “rain or shine”. During extremely inclement weather, it is the event producer’s decision on whether or not to go on with the event. In these situations, you can visit this website, call the box office or listen to the local media for any updates.

Inspection Policy

All guests entering the Arena during an event are subject to a metal-detector screening, visual inspection of the person, parcels, bags, containers and clothing conducted by Tyson Events Center security staff. Any person that refuses an inspection may be denied entry into the Tyson Events Center.

Intoxicated Guests

Tyson Events Center reserves the right to deny entry to intoxicated guests. Any intoxicated guests causing a disturbance during an event will be asked to leave the facility. Tyson Events Center / Centerplate reserve the right to refuse sale of alcohol to any patron that appears to be intoxicated.

Lost and Found

During events, lost and found items are turned in and stored at the Tyson Events Center Box Office. Found items will be stored for 30 days following an event. To learn if an item has been recovered, please call the Box Office during normal business hours at 712.279.4850.

Please note, the Tyson Events Center is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced items.

Lost Children

Lost children/parents should be escorted to the Guest Information Booth or any Arena Staff Member in the event of a lost child or parent.

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Tickets

As a security measure, tickets are printed on thermal paper. Tickets stored in cars, especially in glove boxes or on dashboards, or in other places of extreme heat, may turn completely black and become unreadable.
The Tyson Events Center Box Office is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged ticket(s). Ticket(s) cannot be replaced if lost, stolen, or damaged.  All sales are final.

No Re-Entry

Tyson Events Center has a “no re-entry” policy during all Arena events. Guests who wish to return a prohibited item to their vehicle or need to exit and re-enter due to personal emergencies, must first make arrangements with door security.

Outside Vending/Solicitation

The distribution of promotional items, handbills, flyers, pamphlets, printed material as well as solicitation of signatures without written Tyson Events Center authorization is strictly prohibited.

The selling or sampling of merchandise, food, beverages, tickets or other items on the property without written Tyson Events Center authorization is strictly prohibited.

Parking

Parking is available on the grounds surrounding the Tyson Events Center.

Please note: Parking accessibility varies based on the event.

  • Parking is $5.00 per vehicle, per entry for surface.
  • Parking is at the owner’s complete risk.

Accessible parking is available in all Tyson Events Center parking lots. Stalls are available on a first come, first serve basis to those with a valid & registered ADA hang tag.

Prohibited Items/Actions within the Parking Premises are, but not limited to:

  • Open Fires
  • Soliciting
  • Alcohol Consumption

 

Prohibited Items

The following items are not permitted into the Tyson Events Center:

  • Cameras may not be permitted at certain events. Please see “Cameras, Video Cameras, Audio Recorders” section.
  • Large bags / backpacks, coolers or boxes
  • Bottles, cans, glass containers, liquid containers or other projectiles
  • Any food product, coolers or backpacks
  • Laser devices
  • Projectiles
  • Skates, skateboards, Heelies or scooters
  • Strollers
  • Alcohol or illegal drugs
  • Tobacco of any kind
  • Animals, other than service animals
  • Signs may not be hung without the approval of Tyson Events Center Management
  • Any item or action deemed to challenge public safety
  • No Weapons of any kind, including Lawful Concealable Firearms
  • Any other item deemed unacceptable by Tyson Events Center Management or the Event Producer

Additional items may be prohibited for a particular event, based on the event producer’s discretion. To learn more about prohibited items for a specific event, please contact the Tyson Events Center at 712.279.4850 or www.tysoncenter.com. If your conduct endangers or disrupts guests or others involved in the event, Tyson Events Center reserves the right to remove you from the premises.

Refunds

There are NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES.  If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, tickets may be refunded at the original point of purchase.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located throughout Tyson Events Center for your convenience. All restrooms meet ADA specifications. Men’s, Women’s and Family restrooms are located throughout the building. For guests with children or those that require additional space or assistance, family restrooms are located throughout the arena. Baby changing stations are located in men, women and family restrooms throughout the arena.

Secondary Market

ETIX is the only authorized ticketing agent of the Tyson Events Center. If you purchase tickets from an unauthorized agent in the secondary market (Scalper, Ticket Broker, eBay, StubHub, Craigslist, Facebook, TicketsNow, Tickets.com etc) you risk purchasing counterfeit, void or invalid tickets. The reselling of any Tyson Events Center tickets, at any price, on the property is strictly prohibited.  Guests engaging in such activity may be escorted off the premises.

Service Animals/Guide Dogs

Service animals are welcome in the Tyson Events Center and will rest in the seating area of the guest, rather than in the aisle. We suggest that the individual have proof of certification or a license for the service animal. Please notify your ticket seller at the time of purchase so that an aisle seat may be selected for you to accommodate your service animal.

Sign Language Interpreters

Tyson Events Center is pleased to provide signed performances for our hearing-impaired guests for select Arena events. Interpretation services are not guaranteed for every event; however, we will make every effort to accommodate each request with appropriate advance notice, at least two (2) weeks prior to the event. Smoking Policy

In compliance with local and state laws, Tyson Events Center is a smoke free facility. Outside smoking areas are provided near the box office lobby, and on the south concourse behind section 106.

Strollers

Strollers should not be brought into the Tyson Events Center. Tyson Events Center does not rent out strollers for guests.

Tickets

Tickets are available at the Tyson Events Center Box Office, charge-by-phone at 1.800.514.3849, or the Internet at etix.com. Please note that everyone must have a ticket for most events at the Tyson Events Center. For shows intended for a family audience, please check the event details page for specific ticket requirements for children.

Weapons Prohibited

Guests, including law enforcement personnel not present in an official capacity, are prohibited from bringing weapons into the arena, including lawfully carried weapons. Weapons may not be checked in. Weapons include, but are not limited to, the following: firearms, explosives, stun guns, handcuffs, brass knuckles, sticks, clubs, batons, martial arts instruments, pepper spray, tear gas, knives, etc. Guests found in possession of the above mentioned items will be asked to remove the item from the facility or dispose of it. Guests who refuse to comply will be ejected from the arena and may be subject to arrest.

Wheelchair Escorts

Complimentary wheelchair escorts are available on a first come, first served basis for those needing assistance.  Please see an event staff member for assistance in securing a wheelchair to get to your seat.

Will Call

Will Call tickets can be picked up at the Tyson Events Center Box Office Will Call window.

  • Guests must present the actual credit card used for the order, valid picture identification and the confirmation number.
  • Guests must also sign for the tickets.
  • Tickets will only be given to the cardholder.
  • Tickets or passes left by touring personnel typically arrive in the box office approximately one hour prior to the show. Unfortunately, box office personnel have no way of knowing who will be receiving tickets until they are delivered to the Box Office.
  • Will-call window will open 1.5 hours prior to the event.
