Mardi Gras returns to Sioux City on Friday, July 5, as the Big Parade and the Mardi Gras Festivale take place in Sioux City! Bring your family and friends and join in on all the fun beginning with the spectacular Big Parade at 6:00 p.m. and Mardi Gras Festivale to follow.
6:00 PM – Big Parade
Join the FREE fun when the Big Parade kicks off at 6:00 p.m. The Parade starts on Iowa Street, heads west on 3rdStreet, then south on Pierce Street., and ends at the Tyson Events Center parking lot. Tens of thousands of beads will be thrown into the crowds that line the streets – get your spot early!
Anyone who’d like to sign up their group or organization for the Big Parade can download a 2019 Big Parade Entry Letter and Form. The cost is only $65, and includes a box of Mardi Gras beads to throw. Special rates are available for non-profit organizations and additional boxes of beads are available for purchase.
6:30 PM – Mardi Gras Festivale
The high-energy Mardi Gras Festivale is taking over the Tyson Events Center immediately following the Big Parade. This year’s theme is “Masquerade Ball 2019”. There will be handmade costumes decorated with feathers, sequins, and, jewels, straight from Louisiana. Entry into the Festivale is FREE and open to the public with live music, kids activities, and costume gala.
Authentic “Taste of Louisiana” Cajun samples and a full meal will be available for purchase at the Mardi Gras Festivale. Advance tickets for a reserved seat and meal will be available for purchase beginning June 7. Food concessions will be available for purchase at the event.
